My Top 3 Favorite Essential Oils
No matter what age, taking care of your skin is extremely important. Especially for me, a resident of Southern California where the air is dry, I am constantly on the lookout for remedies and products that will leave my skin silky and smooth. The following oils are my three essentials that are not filled with any harmful chemicals or additives, perfect for sensitive or easily irritated skin!
My number one favorite oil of all time is Argan oil. The list of benefits that 100% pure Argan oil has is endless. It can serve as a scalp treatment, face and whole body moisturizer, leave in conditioner, and can even help the reduce the appearance of stretch marks and razor bumps. Safe to use in its natural and purest form, Argan oil is “liquid gold” and will do wonders to your skin. My favorite bottle is from Acure Organics (check out my review of their product line here). Visit your local Whole Foods, Mothers Market & Kitchen or Sephora to pick it up!
Coconut oil is the jack of all trades in the skincare and essential oil world. Perfectly safe to use in cooking, on your body, in your hair and on your face, coconut oil has a variety of uses.
My favorite use of coconut oil is as an eye makeup remover. Instead of spending unnecessary amounts of money on pricey solutions, I use warm coconut oil to remove my eye makeup. One swipe with a cotton ball and your face is as fresh as can be.
In addition, I use coconut oil in tons of my recipes. It is a perfect substitute for eggs and cream in baking and tastes delicious when used in substitution of olive oil! Check out my Vegan Maple Peanut Butter Cookie recipe made with coconut oil here! Try it out, you won’t be disappointed.
Pomegranate Seed Oil
The hidden benefits of pomegranate oil is endless. Perfectly safe for external and internal use, pomegranate seed oil is made by cold-pressing the seeds and extracting the oils from the fruit. A brilliant source of Omega 5 fatty acid, which is loaded with anti-inflammatory properties, pomegranate seed oil fends off free radicals that age skin and also prevents sun damage. It is also a great anti-oxidant which improves collagen production and firms the skin.
You really cannot go wrong with any of these oils. Infusing your skin, hair and body with all natural moisturizer is a foolproof way of taking care of yourself. Easily accessible at any health food and select beauty stores, argan, coconut and pomegranate oil are by far my top 3 essential oil pics!
